Our actions today have an impact tomorrow.
We can prevent more plastics entering the ocean
We can chose more
reusable options
According to the Canadian government, Canadians use almost 15 billion plastic bags every year and close to 57 million straws every day.
In Canada, more than one-third of our plastics are created for single-use products or packaging.
If we all make small changes today, together we CAN make a difference.

Say No to Plastics.
The problem with plastic
Plastic has revolutionized the way we live, but this amazing innovation has come at a cost. Today, Canadians recycle just 9 percent of the more than 3.2 million tonnes of plastic waste we produce each year. The rest ends up in our landfills or tossed aside in our streets, parks and waterways.
What we require is a paradigm shift: a complete re-evaluation of our use of this material.

...sort your waste
Sort your Waste
Is all of our responsibility
Most of us may think the responsibility for sorting waste totally belongs to the waste operators. The truth is, our contribution to sorting waste from home is urgently needed.
Waste sorting is important because it could increase the number of waste recycled later, thus, reducing the number of waste ends up in the landfill and the environment. Mixed waste that ends up in the environment could pose threats to our environment: hazardous substances that can seep into the ground, hazardous gases that are released into the air and could accelerate the ozone layer depletion, and many unwanted negative impacts.
